![]() Then, of course, there’s the Great Resignation. There have been countless stories about a wave of work-related frustrations in national publications. Aside from actual illness and death, mass burnout might be another key defining feature of the Covid-19 era. Of course, I’d already been hearing all about these frustrations. Another, in sales, has resigned to the fact that his employer has begun demanding more during the pandemic and is sketching out plans to retire as early as possible. One acquaintance, an engineer, who says he can work up to 80 hours a week, had a panic attack at work. I’ve noticed something striking in my conversations with male acquaintances lately: A lot of them are fed up with work - even more so than many of the women I know.
